SERVICES HIGHLIGHT:
Campaign and Video Production Services
Cheers to another year of organizing towards our vision of supporting arts and cultural workers through providing unionized, living wage, and flexible employment! Thank you again to our supporters who partnered with us this past year!
Over the past few months, we’ve partnered with several organizations and campaigns to support their video production needs. From political campaign videos, instructional videos, streaming (both pre-taped and live stream technology facilitation), short film, documentary; our team of filmmakers can customize a production to suit your needs!

Artist and Cultural Workers' Union
In tandem with the launch of VALU CO-OP, our early members became the founding charter members of the Arts and Cultural Workers Union (ACWU), IATSE Local B778.
VALU was the first workplaces organized under the union, which has since gone on to organize six more workplaces, with over 50 current members and counting!
Partnership with the Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Association
We are excited to announce a collaboration with our neighbours, the Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Association, on a project called “Engaging Chinatown," an interdisciplinary archival and arts initiative to connect people to the history of the Lim Association and Vancouver's Chinatown.
It's the first of what we hope will be many projects we create in collaboration with our local neighbourhood organizations—a key component of our mandate to work in meaningful solidarity with the community in which we are enmeshed.
Check out our weekly “Hot Pot Talks!” - a live streamed conversation where co-op members David Ng and Jen Sungshine have conversations with artists, activists, chefs, performers, about what it means to be an artist facing today’s realities, doing work in Chinatown, what organizing and making art looks like during quarantine - while sharing our favourite hot pot dipping sauce recipes.
Thank you! And a request :)
If possible, please share with your networks about our services, our webstore, and what we’re up to! Referrals go a long way.
Thank you!
Yours in Solidarity,
Members of VALU CO-OP
